The Foundation recently hosted a dinner discussion with the Mayor of the West Midlands Combined Authority, Dr Andy Street CBE.

Former Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, now a trustee of Heart of England Community Foundation, Sir Dominic Cadbury, invited an impressive guest list of influential business and community leaders from across Birmingham and the Black Country to join him at Muirhead Tower situated within the University of Birmingham campus.

At his after-dinner speech Andy Street spoke passionately about the West Midlands and his progress since his election in May this year.  He also stressed the need to utilise the foundation: “We hope we can work with the Foundation to help projects build from the bottom up.”

Guests learnt more about the charity’s work across the region from Tina Costello, Chief Exec of the foundation and she stressed the need to raise its profile within Birmingham and the Black Country since extending the charity’s geographical remit in 2015.

Tina Costello, Chief Exec of the foundation closed the evening: “We want the Foundation to become the ‘go to’ charity for philanthropy in the West Midlands. We are doing well, but there is much more to do!”

The evening ended with glowing unprepared testimonials from Sir Dominic Cadbury, Keith Bradshaw OBE DL and Robin Daniels, who have all either donated or worked with the foundation to distribute funding on their behalf.
