The team at Harrison Beale & Owen (HB&O) raised cash to support local charity Helping Hands by taking part in a sleep out on the streets of Leamington, as well as a 10K run at Coventry War Memorial Park.

The Leamington-based charity, Helping Hands, which supports vulnerable people has been given £2,500 by accountants and business advisers Harrison Beale & Owen (HB&O) towards the funding of its soup kitchen, and equipment to help people get back into work. The cash was raised by HB&O staff taking part in a sleep out on the streets of Leamington, as well as a 10K run at Coventry War Memorial Park.

Lianne Kirkman, operations manager at Helping Hands, said:

“We can’t put a value on a donation like this, it’s just fantastic and will enable us to carry on providing an important service for the local area.

“To give you an idea of how much this service is needed, we had over 600 people visit our drop in centre on Gloucester Street throughout December and January to access the soup kitchen. We also helped more than 100 families who had fallen into difficulties.

“The donation will also allow us to purchase some computers and a barista machine to help our visitors to develop new skills and gain NVQ qualifications that will prepare them for work.

“We’d like to thank everybody at HB&O and HOECF for helping us to keep this service going.”
