The Foundation is pleased to announce that Tina Costello, CEO at the Foundation, has been awarded the Public & Third Sector Leader Award at the West Midlands Leadership Awards.

Last week’s West Midlands Leadership Awards, hosted by The Business Desk, at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham city centre recognised 11 exceptional leaders from across the region.

Our esteemed Chief Executive is often found developing and implementing high-level strategies, as well as building new and effective relationships with stakeholders. She ensures that the Foundation can help those within our local communities and has committed her support to numerous charities across the region that are making a difference to those who need it the most.

Since the global pandemic, many sectors have found themselves in uncertain times, the third sector has been affected hugely by the virus. Tina wanted to ensure that our smaller, local charities were not left by the wayside, and were given the support they needed throughout this difficult time. Last year alone the Foundation supported over 1,600 local community groups, with £5.8M in crucial funding, benefitting over 1,000,000 local lives.

The Foundation’s fast reaction during this time of crisis is a credit to Tina’s leadership. Her fast-paced response and clear goals during COVID-19 is something that many of these beneficiaries will never forget. Though it seemed tough, during a situation no one could have ever imagined, Tina stayed positive, lifting those around her and supporting the region with all the resources she could get, offering not only security but also a voice to those who needed it the most during what was an uncertain time for all.

Tina Costello, CEO at the Foundation, said:

“I’m shocked and incredibly proud to win such a prestigious award. It’s great to see that the Foundation’s achievements are being recognised. We’re a small team but we have a huge impact across the West Midlands and I look forward to continue leading the Foundation from strength to strength.

“I’d like to congratulate everyone who was shortlisted, it was a fantastic day and was inspiring to be surrounded by so many influential local leaders.”
