We had a blast hosting our celebratory evening at Birmingham’s Mailbox.

It was especially great to see so many passionate and influential people who really care about the communities where we live, work and play!

If you couldn’t attend, the event showcased the work that the Foundation has done in the city, not only this year but since we became the Community Foundation for Birmingham in 2013.

The evening saw the release of our 2017/18 Annual Review. Over that period the Foundation has awarded £2.5 million across the West Midlands and Warwickshire, supporting over 900 local projects subsequently benefitting almost 500,000 people.

During the evening there were speeches from our President John Crabtree OBE DL, our Chairman Phil Ewing, Wesleyan Assurance’s Chief Finance Officer Ahmed Farooq and our CEO Tina Costello.

There was also a Q&A session with one of our most recognisable trustees, Sir Dominic Cadbury, who spoke about the increased importance of philanthropy as all across the region we’re enjoying a number of commercial and economical successes.

We were able to share some impactful videos from two organisations that the Foundation has supported, the Lion’s Boxing Club and Recre8now, which shows how small donations can change lives in our communities.

The overriding theme of the evening was ‘Do More Local’ as we encouraged those in the region to make a difference to the areas that matter to them.

Below is our event gallery and a short film, we’ll also be publishing a special guest blog!
