About Us
In Warwickshire and Coventry, there are thousands of children and adults whose lives are affected by financial hardship, isolation and social exclusion.
There are also people, companies and groups who can help create a fairer society, by funding or by running schemes that break down the barriers.
With its expert knowledge of local issues, The Heart of England Community Foundation links funders with local groups and charities who want to make a positive impact in their community.
Formed in 1995, we work at grass roots level to link donor funds – individual, family, company and government – with a vast network of local groups. This means that we can target the money where it will make the most impact and use every penny efficiently to meet local needs.
We now give over £1m in grants per annum and have built an endowment fund of £1,000,000, which will benefit local causes and projects for years to come.

John Atkinson
I’ve always believed that active communities improve the quality of life, which is why I support the Heart of England Community Foundation.
A single funding stream for grassroots organisations makes sense. It frees up local volunteers to get on with what they do best – making their neighbourhoods better places to live.
I’m delighted to be taking on the Chair at such an exciting time. Individuals, families, trusts, companies and local government are all getting behind the idea of local empowerment, and channelling their money through the Heart of England Community Foundation.
This is a historic time for the Foundation. In 2007, our endowments topped the £1,000,000 mark. This is a massive vote of confidence in the power of small groups, and the earnings will provide lasting support. I would like to thank all who have been part of our journey so far.
